If it's just a slightly raised bit, not on but behind the ear, and is the a bit like that on the other side then that's normal. If not I'd say go to the doctor, it could be anything, maybe a boil or a spot.

I had something very similar once. I went to see the nurse and she was a bit baffled, but gave me some anti biotics and it soon cleared up. She didn't think I had an ear infection, rather a glandular infection.

Hope this helps!

Have had one for the last 20 yrs. Not dangerous at all. However if it appeared suddenly, go see a doc and check for malignancy.

By chance do you have your ear pierced? It doesn't happen too much...but it happens, but it might be a keloid. A keloid is a lil scar or scar tissue. Best to have it checked out. Better to be safe, rather than sorry.

i used to get spots on and around my ears, really nasty onews (like u get on your face, but solid) and they used to clear up.

BUT I definitely think that you should go to the Doctors, they'll be able to put your mind at rest.. or if you can't be bothered, go to Boots or somewhere and see the pharmacist! They're pretty good people too :-)

All it is, it's actually the 'back of your head' but it curves round behind your ear (ask someone to help if you can't see yourself) and is perfectly natural.
