You need to talk to him about this. Sit down and ask him what he wants from you in this marriage. Does he want you to be with him in a private way. Does he want you to cook his dinners? Does he want you to be a friend? Does he want his house kept clean? You have let him know that you are not his keeper. If he wants a dirty house then keep throwing his clothes around and not even trying to help. If he wants a nice and tidy house and a happy wife then he will at least try. My husband does most of the housework and I do try to help out when I can. Simple things like put dirty clothes where they go. This makes him much happier.

You go girl. I hear you. My husband has a hamper and he hangs his clothes on the side and does not put them in. If you really think about it we are their mother cause we have to always correct them. The thing that my husband does that annoys me is on Sunday he does not move from the couch. He gets up to use the bathroom or to get a snack and that is it. There is lots to do but that is it. We have the weekend to get everything done and i end up doing it myself. Oh, he sleeps on the couch all through the night Saturday and then all day Sunday.

annoying things. where to begin? :)
leaves dirty socks all around the house.
Leaves dirty clothes all around the house in general.
Doesn't wash his hands after using the toilet but tells everyone he does do it (and his hands smell like his butt)
Takes a shower once, maybe twice a week
Leaves wet towels on the floor and on the bed
Leaves empty milk cartons next to the garbage can
If the garbage is full, he will cram other things into it, or he will put things on top of it, but expects me to change it.
Brushes his teeth only twice a week, if I am lucky
Games, online, most of the day
Eats in front of the computer all the time but what annoys me more is the fact that his dishes pile up on the desk.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
:)

I can list a bunch of things my husband does around the house
-not taking his plate or cup to the sink
-Not hanging up a wet towel
-Throws clothes on the floor when there is a empty clothes basket to put the clothes in
-Leaving soda cans around
-Not cleaning out the sink after brushing teeth-Toothpaste is so hard to remove while cleaning
-Leaving his garbage in the vehicle
-Taking the bedsheets off the bed while he is sleeping and not putting them back on
-Forgetting to wipe the urine off the toilet.Ewwww..
-Not taking the garbage out while asked to do so
-Leaving his game console controllers and video games on the floor
-Forgetting to replace the toilet paper roll when it is empty
-Not putting the toilet seat down
In conclusion..I do EVERYTHING in the house regardless if he works or not.

For some reason men feel the need to express themselves by doing these types of things.I have been married over 20 years and my husband still will put back a milk carton with a few drops of milk in the fridge.

Yeah, my husband never puts anything away either but ya know what? I don't care! If (and it is) the only thing I can complain about then I pretty much have a perfect husband. Stop being so critical of the 'small stuff' and try to see the 'big picture' - trust me, you'll be a lot happier. :)

women are natural homemakers, and most men have no idea what to do with that kind of stuff. without women, my apartment is what it is today, a mess. i clean it once every two months. the more efficient a household is with the man and woman doing their natural god given roles, the more easier everything is, and the more financially stable you will become. at the end, both of you will enjoy the fruits of your labors. by picking up after your husband around the house, you are not only doing him a great service, but everyone around you. he silently thanks you for doing that, and know , that we all appreciate it.
health and wealth health and wealth.

Easy, if it's not IN the hamper it doesn't get washed... anything on the hamper gets tossed into a corner (or a garbage bag). Sooner or later he'll get tired of wearing wrinkled and/or dirty clothes.

His mother probably did it all for him before you married. I would pile his stuff on his side of the bed. Let him put it away before he goes to bed.
In my case, I do only as much house work as I want . If he wants it better or cleaner he will do it. We both work so it's not like I watch TV all day. Actually he is great help.
