Is hitting a baseball eaiser than hitting a cricket ball? I need stats to back it up!?

Having played both cricket and baseball as an adult, In would say that hitting a cricket ball is easier.

Also, in cricket about 65% of the balls are put into 'play'
In Baseball, only 25% of the balls are put into 'play'

Having played a little cricket as a kid and then the other day trying to hit a baseball....I think hitting a baseball is a lot easier.

I NEVER hit the ball as a kid at cricket. Yeah I sucked
But I have never missed a baseball.

I think that is because the cricket swing is not natural....you start with the bat vertical touching the ground and have to move the bat away from the ball before you can get a swing going. Whilst baseball you just bring the bat to the ball.

However that is at the beginner's level. Anything beyond that I think baseball becomes harder because the baseball technique and strategy is so evolved and the speed of the pitch is so high compared to cricket. Even a (very good) 12 year can pitch at 70mph. The average person doesn't have a chance at hitting that.

(By the way ... when the ball hits the ground in cricket....you have no idea where it is going to go. A good spin bowler can make it jump left, right, up or down .... think about it...imagine a curve ball hits hard ground before you get to hit....you'd have to be Barry Bonds and then some to even have a chance at getting it.)

I can't imagine where you would get stats to support this.
However there is a simple experiment you could do:
1) Get a person that has never played either sport.
2) Explain to them the cricket and baseball stances.
3) Throw a certain number of balls at them and see which gets more hits.

no because a baseball is a ball that can have movement and a cricket ball bounces on the ground then u hit it
