It depends on how the baby is moving. Hiccups can feel like little flutters. A punch or kick might feel like being poked if the baby is still small. A bigger baby's kick is much stronger. A turn is a really weird feeling, but as you go through the pregnancy you'll learn to recognize all the different types of movements (and you might get tired of them, especially if they wake you up every night at midnight.) Enjoy those little movements!

i'm on my fifth being pregnant. i imagine each and every woman feels something diverse, or a minimum of explains it in a unique way. initially for me, this is like a fluttering or a very mild prodding. Then because the toddler receives stronger, the movements develop into extra planned. once you get farther alongside, you'll recognize what's occurring because this is going to sometimes harm. in spite of the undeniable fact that it passes. I believe the only poster who stated this is the most magnificent feeling contained in the international. sturdy success and congratulations!

It is the best feeling in the world. When you first notice them it's like tiny little movements (I used to think it felt like bubbles). As the pregnancy progresses it is like prodding and it becomes more obvious until you can actually see lumps pushing out of your belly with the baby moving. It becomes less frequent in the later months as there is simply no room left for your baby to move.

I used to think it was so reassuring when my baby moved and sometimes would deliberately wake him up so I knew he was ok!

Everyone seems to feel it differently

It never ever felt like "butterflies", "bubbles" or "gas" to me! I was waiting to feel these bubbles and they never happened. It was a squirmy feeling. Like something wriggling around in there.

I'm 28 weeks now and sometimes I feel definite little "kicks" which are sharper. I haven't actually seen a foot or a hand but I've seen a ripple going accross my stomach as baby moves.

when I was pregnant and the was moving sometimes it felt like some gently prodding me and others it was like someone was beating the crap out of me from the inside...well I guess they were but not intentionally..lol.
It's probably just the baby moving or trying to stretch inside of you but if you are really concerned then I would see a doctor.
Congratulations and good luck.

Like butterflies early in pregnancy. If you lay down on your back and drink a glass of cold water this should increase the babys movement.

My partner is 29 weeks pregant with twins. She said in the beginning it was like bubbles in her belly - imagine a lava lamp and the wax going up in blobs! Now it is definate kicks and punches. When the babies move - her belly looks like waves in the sea!! She says it is the best feeling in the world.

At first it feels like little bubbles in there, or like someone is tickling you from the inside- usually at about 4 months. As the baby gets bigger and stronger it becomes obvious when the baby moves, trust me, you'll know.

It feels like you've got butterflies in your stomach at first and then later on there are more definate pushing movements from within. At about 24 week you'll see your stomach move especially when you lie in a warm bath.
