Stylistically they are totally different tournaments because of the teams they are composed of. The Tri-Nations have more speedsters and running tries but thats becasue the teams put an emphasis on that. The Northern teams put more of an emphasis on set peices. Although France and SA make exceptions to those rules.
In terms of entertainment value, I'd have to say the Tri-Nations are more entertaining, with bigger rivalries and more intensity due to the shorter season.

As a English fan, definitely the Six Nations. Maybe the winner of the Tri Nations could play the winner of the Six Nations every year.

Since Italy joined the competition now called the six nations they have steadily improved. If they have improved for the next competition then they could cause an upset.
They may not win it this time but they could take points from other teams to cause an upset.
Promises to be a good 6 nations this season.

The Six Nations has got better since Wales got the Grand Slam as Italy and Scotland have also improved; but Tri-Nations hasn't got enough matchs. Perhaps if they expand it to the whole of the southern hemisphere Argentina or a Pacific Island team would join and would enhance the competion.
So the way it's going I'd have to say Six Nations.

6 Nations.
Simply because there are more games & the outcome is by no means a foregone conclusion.
Although I have to say the std of Southern Hem Rugby is fantastic, England are still World Champions.
Believe me For a Welshman to say that it takes a lot!!!
The Southern Hemi Guys can certainly be beaten, remember Wales v Austrailia. Now how about bringing in the other European Nations and making a real spectacle of it. Then the Tri- Nations could invite the Islands etc.... Bring it on... Anybody got any tickets?

Australia {Tri Nations}
