Someone told me that yesterday and i began to think. If someone touched me with a pole, wouldnt my energy be transferred to the pole and hence to the individual? Though he doesnt want to touch me, he scientifically is in a way through my body electrical energy exerted into the pole. Am i right? I welcome all hypothesis and theories on this issue. If i am right, then i think we should come up with a different phrase to distinguish disgust with something.

well, i wouldnt touch you with the end of a pole's barge pole-pole vault's pole end attached to a disposable 60 feet long plastic tube made to self-destruct after touching you, attached to a retractable robotic arm attached to a crane, hows that

Wow did you put some thought into that, or what? This may be the reason he wouldn't touch you with a 10 ft pole - it takes too long to discuss a simple phrase

Nope. What energy are you talking about and when has it been established that it exists and can be transferred???
At school, we used a similar expression, a six foot pole. In the VI form, my chum Yaslev Kopech put it to rest by interjecting 'I'm a six-foot Pole, and I wouldn't touch her with you, either.'!

Rephrase it to say "You'd rather slide down a fireman's pole studded with razor blades,and into a barrel of alcohol than to touch me"(-;

"I wouldn't touch you with a ten-foot shaft of non-conducive material" sounds a bit lunky though. Any alternatives you'd suggest?

It's just a saying that speaks for itself. Nothing wrong with it.
