My friend droped his ipod and now theres no sould coming from it. I restored it but it still doen't work. Must be a problem with the hardware. Its a first generation 20 GB ipod and its out of guarantee. I tried using different headphones but doesn't work. There must be a problem with the audio inside the ipod. I wondering does anybody know a way to open it up and fix it yourself. I know he could send it to get repaired but that costs money. Plz help. Thank you for your time.

If you open it you can ruin it beyond repair. So, it costs money to repair it? Pay the money. It is worth it.

;-D If you are a techie type, look at the link

I guess you have left with little option to bring in back to iPod service cente.

That is the good and bad to have it for from iPod. The casing has not screw from anyone to open it. Even yes, i don't think anyone had the part to service it. :(
