....considering if he didn’t, the Muslims would have carried on bombing churches and killing Nuns etc. Doesn’t this violence and restriction of freedom of speech just prove the original point? A forced apology has no substance.

doesn't the fact that muslims turned immediately to violence show that he was right to say they were violent - if they had just said ooooh that wasn't very nice we wouldn't say that about your religion they would deserve an apology the fact this wasn't their reaction merely proves his quotation was true

First of all the Pope, no matter how religious he is being the highest ranking member of the church, he must first be a politician, impossible not to be, so when you find out that you have put your foot in your mouth, and by doing so, will cause big problems for everyone around the world, you have to start back tracking, makes no difference if you want to or not, just something that must be done! Some religions are very different than others have more of a wild side like what is happening by some muslim people around the world, they can anything do anything but God forbid you say the word sh*it, makes no difference that you have a mouthful, your dead meat! The last Pope was a fantastic man not a bad word ever left his lips about anyone, and yet some person shot him and tried to end his life. Now this Pope has said he will be the first to go to a Muslim country, and after what he quoted that SOME ONE ELSE SAID, NO HIM! What kind of odds will odds makers put on his life during that visit, if he still plans to go???

The Pope knew exactly what he was doing when he used that quotation, you don't get to be Pope by being stupid.Bush is in a lot of trouble over his attacks on Muslim countries. The Pope,by stirring up the Muslim fanatics, gives Bush the opportunity to say 'look, this is what we are fighting against'.We now have a Nazi Pope & a Fascist President working hand-in hand.

I don't think the people should over react whenever their "religion" is being persecuted. They(extremists) do all sorts of things to others but they dont take them to war or get violent towards them(Muslims). Consider the Allah cartoon carricature case, its the mistake of one guy who thought it was funny and the whole community was ready for a kill. In this case, the pope shouldn't have spoken that way about Muslims, because not all of them are violent like the extremists we see on TV. However, the extremists should control themself and be humble- like muslims are taught to be in the Quran. They should have known what is going on in the world because of Muslim terrorists and accept that the comment does not mean harm to those who aren't involved. If they wanted to disagree with the Pope, do it peacefully. Not riot like they are trying to raise hell.
Okay and back to the pope, admit it, even Christians have extremists! All religions have extremists! So they(Muslims) are not the one who are always wrong. The pope should apologize before they even asked(no one should demand for apology) for it. So if the pope refuse to apologize, why should the muslims be upset? Their Allah will deal with him. Unless they don't believe that he(Allah p.b.w.h) is capable of dealing with his persecutors.
Of course, our own God wont tolerate such behaviour towards others. it's not right.
good night and have a nice life.

I do believe that the Pope's original comments were TOTALLY taken out of context. If people actually bothered to listen to the whole speech they will see that the pope did not intend to insult or cause harm. Therefore, I don't believe an apology is needed.
BUT, I think in today's politically sensitive climate, it was TOTALLY stupid for him to have made any comment that could lead to misinterpretation.

The Pope is under no obligation to apologise for anything. The worlds Roman Catholics owe the muslim nations nothing. The muslims represent the greatest danger to the world today.

To the 1st question, Christians have self belief that Jesus is the Messiah. this suggests that he's the single which will fulfill the prophecies that have been quoted interior the Hebrew scriptures. He has come to maintain human beings from their sins and grant a clean existence. on the different hand, Muslims view Jesus as a prophet. for this reason, they do no longer deny his existence. They fairly in simple terms view him as no longer substantial in assessment to Muhammad. he's the main familiar prophet. Their perspectives on God are additionally very distinctive. Christians are trinitarian monotheists on a similar time as Muslims are unitarian monotheists. while Christians are trinitarian monotheists, they have self belief in one God different than that he has printed himself in 3 varieties. those are the daddy, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Muslims in spite of if have self belief in one absolute God. His call is Allah. yet another distinction between the two is the way of salvation that each of them provides. Christianity relies upon the thought that Christ has died and sacrificed himself to conceal for all of humanities sins. All that human beings ought to do is in simple terms settle for him for doing that. Islam relies upon doing stable works and following the 5 pillars. those 5 pillars are (one million) visit Mecca, (2) be conscious Ramadan(era of fasting), (3) supply to the undesirable, (4) pray 5 situations an afternoon in direction of mecca, (5) you're able to be able to desire to state that there is not any god yet Allah and Muhammad is his prophet. each faith is likewise very heavily appropriate with Judaism. Christianity is extremely an extension of Judaism. that's because of the fact the Jewish human beings have been finding for a Messiah. Christians have self belief that Jesus is this Messiah. no longer all Jewish human beings have conventional this. In historic previous, the Muslims have been in consistent touch with Jewish human beings and in all probability will share similarities in line with way of existence.

Have you actually read what the Pope said?

Here is a link to the English translation of the Pope's controversial speech: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060912_university-regensburg_en.html

Someone else wrote it..he just quoted it.

Muslims believe they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Most religions feel the same way...Catholicism tells us to worship one God, and in worshiping all others is wrong... Thats the 1st commandment.
But it also tells us Thou shall not kill....So we don't go about killing others who dont believe in our God...We show tolerance.
This is something Muslims will never do.
To kill this nun who has done nothing wrong except devote her life to her God is so typical of the intolerance of muslims.

I'm annoyed at this...everyone has it in them to say..yeah right, thats your view but I think your wrong....and turn the other cheek.

Why do some religions think...No your wrong to believe in another God and for that i'm gonna kill you!

Good for him. Somebody had to say it. I never thought I would hear myself say such a thing as I am not a big fan of the Pope or the Roman Catholic religion.
