If someone offers his life for the good of the others is he violating his own human dignity

SORRY! Actually this is only just a precursor for my other post. Let's just say a wrong written post (bit of noob) and btw let's not generalize on an issue. It doesn't mean that one did this all of them are doing this... ^__^

This question proves how feeling less you are
Suicide is a kind of mental illness. Those who are weak, usually they commit suicide but for good sake if someone lay down his life does not mean suicide.it is a sacrifice. You western people are so selfish and materialistic that you can't differentiate between a good and a bad thing.Your whole existence is dependent on I, ME AND MINE.

No, I see that as enhancing a person's dignity. There is no higher dignity than giving your own life for the betterment of somebody else.

Giving your life for a just cause is not suicide, it is sacrifice. That is true altruism, but of course a psychological egoist would say that such acts are inherently selfish.

well, whats altruistic about suicide? If under some circumstances it is altruistic to kill oneself then no, it would be a testiment to ones dignity...pretty stupid question.
