He wouldn't waste his time if he wasn't serious. Take it slowly, and maybe you will develop feelings. If you are worried about getting hurt, well, I am sorry to say that anytime you enter a relationship there is a good chance that you will get hurt. IF you want to avoid heart break entirely, then don't date at all. Good luck!

YOUR QUESTION IS SO OLD-FASHIONED. GET REAL AND GET ON.
Modern Courtship no longer has the "yes"-"no" answer - that's been so obsolete since the days of your great-grandmothers. If you still think that that's prevalent - you need to take the scales off your eyes and wake up to reality.
When a guy is truly serious about a girl or 'lady' - he's usually shy and intimidated - not really knowing how to approach her. The guy usually look apprehensive when he is so swooned over by the girl he really likes. He may have the courage to keep talking over the phone; but becomes different when you meet in person.
When a guy is not really that interested, you can see his casual attitude with you. You think he's being cool? I suggest you drop the 'friendship' or relationship right there and then. The only thing you're going to get is "frost bite".
When you see the man exhibiting the former signs and you mutually have the same feelings for him - then you encourage him more to be close to you just by listening to him, laughing with him, just simply paying close attention to everything he does, say, do, etcetera. By doing so, you give this man enough strength to come up to you and ask the choking question he's been wanting to express to you.
And when that does happen, you'll realize that you didn't really need to answer "yes" or "no" - because the understanding is mutual - and silent.
Afraid of being broken hearted? First off - you don't hold off your feelings when you are truly in love. Real love culminates only when you give it all you got without reservations. And when you do love, heartbreak is bound to happen - it's a matter of you handling that gift God gave to you. And when you do love without bounds - your man will always receive it - they know when you have reservations or giving all. They also know when your 'love' is fake, a convenience, or for real.
Take your time. Don't pressure yourself to get into a relationship just because your family or friends want you to have one, or maybe because everyone else has one and you're the only one who's available.

Love is like life. Full of options/choices. Do I or dont I? If you dont take a chance on trying most of them, youll always regret and wonder what if. Broken hearts are part of the game. Theres also no guarantee that the one you love will love you back. Looks arent everything so go for one with brains and a big heart and forget what everyonme else says. Your feelings may be trying to tell you something but only you can tell what. Good luck

first you need to figure out why you have a gut feeling cause it is there for a reason. Why do you have to get so serious real quick. why not date and find out what the deal is. Why do you young ones feel like you have to love everyone that comes along. have a b/f then have another b/f and then another b/f wait until you are older before you start thinking about love.

Take it at our own pace but don't shy away because of what may happen. We will get our hearts broken a few times looking for Mr. Right but it helps us grow and know what we are and are not looking for in a relationship.
