It is doubtful the concentration of alcohol in the blood is too insignificant.

Technically yes. A very very drunk person would have a blood alcohol level of 0.35grams/100ml of blood. A large mosquito bite takes 0.01ml of blood. So . . if a very hungry mosquito bites a guy so drunk he's singing "YMCA" and telling a stranger he loves them, the mosquito will imbibe 0.035mg of ethanol. Given the body mass of the mosquito, this amount of ethanol is almost certain to have an effect. There are many reports of insects getting drunk by feeding on fermented fruit [see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/110565.stm ]There is also more general information on mozzies here [ http://www.mosquito.org/mosquito-information/faq.aspx ]

Well.. the mosquito would not drink blood in sufficient quantities to get "drunk" but yes, I suppose so if the mosquito drank a gallon of blood(which is not possible)

NO. The mosquito lacks a liver which plays a big part in getting drunk. There are other body parts it lacks that play a part in getting drunk.

LOL - very funny! I'm guessing the person has to have alcohol poisoning to have it effect a mosquito. They take so little blood it would be a miracle if they were infected. Funny question!

I think the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream would be too minute to have an effect on a mosquito.

no, a mosquito would have to drink an enormous amount of blood for the alchohol to affect it. and then it wouldn't get drunk, but would die, alcholhol is toxic to most organisms, as the liver is not advanced enough to deal with it, hence why it's used to sterilize and preserve things in a lab,

I don't know, but I can share some info about mossies:

If a mosquito bites you on your forearm or calf (these areas work best) and you really tense the muscle just as its drinking, the blood will rush out into it causing it to explode!

Really, truly!
