They don't call the shots. It's called mating season and mother nature makes it happen in the springtime so there is plenty of food to eat for the young.

I dunno, really. I used to own horses, and 'Bonzo' used to try to hump 'Nero' all the time, horny little bugger....
Animals tend to have seasons, and when they come into season they secrete a smell, or pheremones, which drive the male of the species barmy! I swear female humans are always in season, I'm constantly horny lol!!

animals dont plan to have babies. animals have sex with each other when they are in heat. for example when the weather changes that's when animals body's began to change(hormones are at all time high)
