OK so it is obious that the heater core is the problem but replacing it could be a very costlly thing, up to $400, since you know what the problem is I recomend that you have the heater core hoses bypass, that will stop the water from leaking inside the car and the only bad thing is that you wont get any hot air inside your car, wich in most cases is better than paying that much money to get repair. The total cost for bypassing is about $20 if you do it yuourself and it takes about 20min, hopes this helps. Good Luck!

apple core, baltimore ? nope sounds like HEATER CORE.Antifreeze has been known to not leak directly from the core housing itself, often following a path to point that it can escaps, usually the heater or vent ducts. The heater core should only be replaced by a qualified tech.

@chris..."superheated coolant"? WTF? This joker is no mechanic. In reference to the problem, you either have routed the bypass incorrectly or it is just residual leaking from the burst core. Either way, you need to get it properly repaired. Winter is coming and you will want that heater/defroster working. The part isn't that expensive (under $100) but installation isn't cheap. I expect you should get some estimates from local shops for an accurate price range.

Heater core is busted or a heater hose is leaking inside under your dash.

The heater core, which is located on the passengers side, is probably leaking.
