I know a lot of horrible things would happen, like women die trying to do it to themselves and we would overpopulate even more than we are now. What else do you think would happen?

Fhe majority of abortion is not a form of birth control; don't kid yourself. The majority of abortions are performed on women who used birth control but it failed.

Back alley abortions would be the biggie, there will still be abortions, it will just be done by unqualified people. Infection and bleeding to death would be the main two causes of death among young woman. I think those rich that oppose it would just go to some other country and get theirs. While I think that abortion is a piss poor means of birth control and I really do not like it, I am not going to cover my eyes so that I can not see that it would be bad for the country to pass a law banning it.

Abortion has been a fact of life for centuries, either through herbal remedies or more drastic measures. Such laws are stupid to outlaw abortion as they only force women to look to illicit means to procure an abortion...at the risk of their own lives. People who struggle against abortion are being ignorant of the social, emotional and financial burdens placed on a couple with an unwanted child. The child will not recieve the best of care if the mother and father can't afford the baby. They say then the child should be adopted out...with 50,000 children available for adoption in the US, it seems that few of these do-gooders are willing to do as they say. Abortion is needed, but a strong support system is also needed to prevent un-wanted pregnancies and it is time for the Catholic Church to wake up to that fact.

Abortion has already been outlawed in the united states from the mid 1800's until the 1970's.

If it was outlawed now, every problem that rose then would come back to haunt us now. Infection, infertility, declining right of women all over the spectrum... child labor (although I know is against the law, but if you study the industrial revolution who was the biggest work force??? women and children)... there is so much that would be affected... like a dominoe effect!

If abortions were outlawed, there would be fewer abortions overall. Killing babies is evil, and harm is also done when women die. The lives of the child and mother have the same value and both should be protected. In either case all of the harm results from the intent to kill a child. Outlawing abortions decreases the total harm, but does not eliminate all harm.

i dont know about corruption, but if the churches want to poke their snouts into the political arena on this issue, they should lose their tax exempt status, and the money generated should be used to pay for the extra costs of welfare, prisons, unwed mothers who drop out of school, healthcosts, lost wages, etc that forcing irresponsible people to procreate will cause. The welfare system as it is keeps people who shouldnt be breeding popping out more welfare kids, who commit crimes and get on drugs, and are a burden on society. Those people who can actually afford to have kids, cant, they need to work and pay taxes to support the riffraff, its a horrible situation that will get worse and worse till it all explodes, and i blame it on the anti-choicers and their propaganda and religious zealots views.

No, it would perhaps cause people to use more responsiblity in having sex, make them be more careful in thier use of birth control. The majority of current aboriton is used as merely a form of birth control. And if you beleive in it so highly your reasoning could be used to allow perhaps the killing of elderly to lower population once they are no longer effectve.

Perhaps just killing mentally defective chidren before school age that will only be a drain on society.

Killing and murder is wrong and there is no good excuse for it.

Abortion has nothing to do with over population.

You will have people in their basement preforming abortions because these girls feel they cannot talk to their parents.

over population more prevalent in poor people.
the rich would be able to pay high price to do it illegally, but the poor wouldn't, and there would be a increase of poor children. now what do you think that would do to the economy?

The corruption that would occur would be much in the same as it is now.

Just another way to violate a woman's right to choose. The way the world is now we won't have any rights anymore.
