I need to run some macros and it can't be done with a mouse.

So I need the shortcut key to select desktop icons and then navigate with keyboard shortcuts.

No mouse, just a key that will highlight the first icon or so on the desktop.

I have found that the key combination "Windows Key and D" brings up the desktop with the bottom left icon selected, i can then use the cursor keys to move around, when i am on the desired icon press enter and it activates

oh and the TAB key.....(thanks you lot)

Press tab to highlight the last used icon. if you have windows open, you may have to press tab repeatedly. If you haven't used an icon, press the windows key in between ctrl and alt to bring up the start menu. use the cursor key to find an icon you have on your desktop. then press tab

Use your TAB key.
