It is very upsetting to me because I have some overeaters in my family. I know first hand what their problems are and what complicated issues it causes between them and their loved ones. When I see extra large people, it just brings all that back...All I can see is pain and suffering.

Nope, it could be anything mental, health, or they're just okay with the weight. As long as person is cool and not whining about the weight problem (morning noon and night) and doing nothing about it, I'm pretty okay with it.

I think your question is valid. I have no idea where it's coming from so I can't judge.

1. If you were a former fattie and you hated yourself over it (get over it and get some real problems).

2. if you're obese and hate yourself(lose the damn weight and stop being an asshole to yourself and others).

3. A health nut/concerned person who like to see other people healthy(talk about it with the person if they're close to you, if they're okay with the weight then leave them alone - they'll figure it out)

4. If you're asshole and noone can be different around you then leave them alone (go bother someone else and be careful when insulting strangers...you might catch the wrong person at the wrong moment)

You used the word "morbidly obese". Morbid means deathlike.

It sounds like imminent death to me and of course it upsets me. Death usually does. People who don't take care of themselves upset me enough that I don't want to be around them unless I have to be.

It only upsets me because I feel really bad for them. I wish I could help them help themselves.

No. It is their life, if they are fat, it is their problem, not mine.
