I have access to many of my high school classmate's screenname by their facebook, xanga, and myspace. I am in my college now. I want to make new friends with my high school classmates. I am not sure if it is okay to im people from your high school looking for a new friend. I personally wouldn't mind people from my high school iming me to be friends though. If a person says "How did you got my screenname?" or anything like that, does that person want to talk to you at all? How can you tell if a person wants to be friends or not?

I meant, I have access to their aim screennames, and I want to get to know them better, like it is okay to im them on aim? What would would you if you were me? Would it be awkward?

Yeah, Those are people that I do not even know and want to get to get in touch.

by the way, I wasn't successful to make friends in college so I am trying to connect with high school people.

You are misusing private information that you have no right to.

You can't recreate the past, its over. I would suggest you get involved in a hobby or field of interest and join social organizations that concern these things. Simply starting out by having a common interest gives you conversation opportunities. Its an easy step to say, "Yes, I really loved that book too! Would you like to have a cup of coffee and discuss it?" Keep trying until someone says "yes, that sounds like fun".

How much time did you spend with these classmates in highschool, were you ever personally invited to any of their extra-cirricular activities like parties etc...? If not, move on because you might end up opening "Pandora's box" and might upset those from your past. Leave them alone. Your going to college now, which is totally a much more mature playing board. Focus on that future and leave "high-school" alone. I'm sure you'll have a lot more fun with strangers, that the "strangers" you went to school with back in the day.

Why would you want to take a step backwards? If they didn't want to hang out with you in HS, what makes you think they would want to be friends now? Wierd. How did you get access to their screen names anyway? Did they give them to you? If not, then thats wierd too. Save yourself the embarrassment.
