It looks as though flying_pig319 can't read.

The product is going to be pretty close to the cube of the middle number, so the nearest even number to the cube root of 960 is a good first guess at the middle number. If the starting number was much smaller than 960, you might find you had to try the next even number above or below.

Those numbers aren't consecutive, Jammy!

I'll give you the formula: (x-1)(x)(x+1)=960
Once you have solved for x, your three numbers are x, x-1, and x+1
