I went to Lake Garda in Italy which is surrounded by huge mountains - the perfect conditions for dramatic thunderstorms. One day whilst crossing the lake there was a huge thunderstorm - I sat on the top deck of the boat and watched the lightning flash around the mountain tops, with the loudest bangs and rumbles you ever did hear - amazing experience! People thought I was crazy - my friend was crying below deck...

Yes, I can't describe the thrill I get out of watching -- no, not just watching -- but immersing myself in the amphitheatre of a thunderstorm, a real humdinger. Getting dazzled by that flash of lightening, waiting for that initial crack and feeling the subsequent rumble through your bones are all exhilarating. Think of the crouching and frowning clouds, the earth waiting with bated breath until the great roaring beast pounces and shakes up your very innards.

Hi. Thunderstorms are fun until a lightning bolt gets really close, then the self survival juices kick in. Lots of people love this feeling. I do!

I get really excited about thunder storms, too! I just HAVE to go outside and watch! If its a bit of a slow one, then I say to myself, "I'll just wait 10 more seconds and if there isn't another flash, then I'll go back in" but I always wait much longer!

I'm in Korea (neat typhoon going on here right now, by the way - typhoon Shan Shan) and the last storm here was fab!

I was outside watching and giving the usual "Ooh! Aah" when suddenly the lightning and the thunder clap came instantaneously and I swear I could feel it deep inside! I must confess that at that point I shat my pants and ran back inside!!!

Happy storm watching!!

When I was around 8 years old, I was terrified of T-Storms. I finally got sick of being scared of them, so i forced myself to sit out on the front porch during a really nasty one. And I LOVED it!! After that, i would run outside anytime I heard thunder. Later, I got into roller blading, and love to roller blade in the storms. Just watching te lightning is a thrill. I know how you feel. Seeing and hearing the fury of nature is exhilarating, to say the least!

I love thunderstorms... so much power.. and great lightning shows are amazing. It kinda feels like the world's coming to an end.. and then it's all calm again. Bizarre.

I love thunderstorms and I can tell when one is approaching in three different ways - the cat goes and hides in the cellar, I can smell it (weird I know) and my friend's hip starts aching. I have no idea why this happens, but I trust the cat more than weather forecasts. :)

I work in the semiconductor industry and when we get a lightning storm our machines are badly affected and we sometimes lose some product, each microchip wafer is worth about the price of a new BMW.
