The women don't seem to be old like some of
the men are. I just want hear the news.

TV is a looks oriented business. But the news people don't set the standards- its our society and the fact that most people want to look at beautiful people on tv.

You're right, they definitely don't look like normal ugly Americans. The Stations are afraid that people won't want to stare at people who look like them.

Men have more leeway in being "human" than the women broadcasters. Women can't be old, either.
