Well first off, we still have 13 games left. So DON'T STOP BELIEVING!!! But, in reality, there pitching was weak because the starters pitched alot last year, going all the way through October. Their arms needed the brake. Second, had a weak defense. Not only was pitchers giving up runs, we have had Juan Uribe "dancing" around the field, causing errors on himself and others. We could have made more outs if he would have made a different throw. However, since he makes alot of good plays too, you could call it even with him. However, we have had Brian Anderson playing outfield instead of Rowand. That wasn't a problem in the field, but his batting was the bad part.Another factor, was instead of hitting for base hits like last year, our players are pulling their swinging and trying for homers. By next year we will probably have new left fielder and shortstop.

First of all, the season isn't over yet but it isn't looking good at the moment. Second, I don't know where this person came up with the idea that the White Sox were owned by the Cubs even figuratively. That would not happen in Chicago.
I don't think you can look at any specific person they need. There were a lot of people that are still on the club that had a much better season last year than this year. As mentioned already, the pitching doesn't look nearly as good as it did last year but my memory might be clouded by all of the complete games in the playoffs. It would be nice to get Brian Anderson hitting to get him on base more often but, in a string of games I was able to watch recently, that had all kinds of people on base and the others couldn't knock in the run. Maybe Aaron Rowand had more of an effect on the team than they thought.
I really think that any team as a whole can have a hot year and any team can have a cold year. Both Minnesota and Detroit are having years like Chicago had last year where it seems like in every game there is at least one person that steps up and gets the job done. That increases the confidence of the whole team, they don't press as hard and they play better.
If the White Sox don't make it back this year, I don't think they are too far away from being back pretty often over the years. I wouldn't make any drastic moves.

There are no excuses for this years team. The roster is virtually the same from last years World Series team. Plus, they added Jim Thome who has put up very good numbers. Maybe last year was simply a case of too many players having career years.

Ryan R is right. Their pitching has been abysmal except for Jon Garland, who is havong a great year. None of them came through when they needed it, and they always had to play catch-up.
They'll need to work on getting that ERA lower or finding new pitchers.

Their pitching just hasn't been up to snuff. I don't think last year was a fluke, I think Ozzie may have had his starters going to deep into games last year and at the beginning of this year and they just became tired.

Well the clear answer is that their pitchers did not perform this year!! Garcia's ERA is thru the roof and so is Vasquez's...Their bulpen wasn't as solid either and Jenks shoulda done better than he actually did...Soo pitching was the clear reason..
