Doesn't it drive you crazy when someone puts on one of these extremely long answers that they cut off some webpage,!
OK, the answer is, noone exactly knows.... why not? Well,there are some areas where the people claim they are a country, but other people say they are NOT a country, and the area belongs to someone else. So there are some arguments about some of the countries, like say, "Western Sahara" which claims to be a country, but Morocco says it isn't
If you want a pretty reliable list of countries with good information about each one, you can go to a website that is run by the US Government called the CIA World Factbook. You can easily search that one on line.
