What's the best/worst advice you ever got from tv?

Not really advice, but when did you see something on TV (or a movie) and decide to try it yourself? What were the results? I want some stories people!

All the corporate channels like CNN and CBS waved American flags and said we are righteous in attacking Iraq because Saddam threatens us..

They were lying, had no proof and were wrong... now their owners (military corporations like GE) have made billions but we are losing money and troops

Definetly got advice from the Supernanny! I tried her disciplining skills on my two daughters (3 & 1) and after that I had no problems.
