I agree with you. Take Beyonce as a perfect example, the beats to her songs are pretty good but the minute she opens her mouth I gotta turn it off.
Artists nowadays have gotten lazy. They depend solely on their celebrity and some ok beats to get them album sales. It really sucks.

Definitely. There are too many songs which are ruined by certain lyrics being needlessly repeated too often (usually towards the end of the song, ruining an often otherwise-good song).

Yes; there's a song on the South Park Movie soundtrack called "The Eyes of a Child"; most of it is sweet but for example, at one point he sings"If you want I can even get my friend Steve to detail your car, for 'bout twenty bucks" and like you said, it just ruins it.

i think singers voices just add to the whole experience of the song... in the songs I listen to, their voices are smooth, haunting, and awesome. however, I would have to agree with you in some cases. Can't quite think of them now but....
Well, yea, if there's guitars and drums, it's sometimes better without the voices, but hey.

bon jovi's "have a nice day" and paris hilton's "stars are blind" have dumb lyrics that ruin a good song.
