Photoshop is way too big a subject to cover in one post or email. Buy a book, take a college course or better still subscribe to http:www.vtc.com (an excellent online training college)

There is a really good book to help on this programme in the "Dummies" series, thats the best, its sometimes hard to follow instructions from the screen

If you can afford to have PS, then you can afford to take a course at your local community college.
Otherwise, go through the tutorials within the program, or play around with trial and error.
