Needed knowledge I would classify as that which allows you to continue to survive and pass your genes onto the next generation. Like how to make the food you eat safe.
Wanted knowledge I would classify as that which is not necessary for you to perform your job or supply yourself or your children with food, clothing and shelter.

Everybody needs knowledge but very few want it. People are living without knowledge, so why it is necessary at all?

I want to know what the stars are made of, I can go on without that knoweldge,
I need to know how to take care of myself, how to make or get food.
I want to know the latest gossip from my freinds,
I need to know if my wife loves me. because I can not contiune on ( in our relationship if I don't know)
