The Stanstead Express leaves Liverpool Street station every 15mins from 4:25 on Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon and from 4:55 the rest of the week. The travel time is 45mins.
To arive at Liverpool Street by underground take the Northern Line north and change at Bank for the Central line Eastwards. However the first trains on the underground run from 4:30am it is possible you may not reach Liverpool Street in time. I would recommend therefore getting a taxi to Liverpool street to be sure.

check out the RAC suggested route - you are looking at a journey of about 36 miles which will take about 50 minutes.

If you have to get there by public transport then you need to set off early to arrive by 6am, the tubes will not be running.

Go to the London Oval bus stop (stop D) and Take London Central/N36 towards Kilburn (London), Queens Park Station/The Falcon at 3:51.

Get off at London, Victoria (stop H) at 4:01

Take National Express Airport/A6 towards Stansted Airport, Stansted Airport Coach Station (departs 4:12)

Arrive Stansted Airport, Coach Station at 5:25

Get bus to the airport and you should arrive with half an hour to spare. Using the second source you can look up other possible routes and times in case you want to play it safe and arrive earlier.

The tubes only start running about 5am and typically there are only 2 or 3 trains between 5am and 6am. Short of it, you won't be able to get to Stansted using tube. You may be able to get there by bus but you'll have to allow at least a couple of hours: check out the Transport for London website to see if it is of any help http://www.tfl.gov.uk/. Realistically, I think you'll have to arrange a taxi.

Take the tube to Liverpool Street Station and catch the Stansted Express from there. Think it runs every 20 minutes or so but don't quote me on that..........

Visit the Transport for London website and look at their journey planner. You can enter the details of your journey, time that you wish to arrive etc. The site will give you a choice of three journeys.
