i'm watching her concert in 1985, the virgin tour and compared to her recent tours, this was like disney stuff, and I was wondering back then what was the first shocking thing she did or wore or whatever that led her to become the madonna we know and loooove today?

I would suggest her "Like a Virgin" video was risque for the time followed by her "Truth or Dare" period.

i don't know if this was her first shocker but i remember her riding around on the back of a motorcycle wearing nothing but a thong and heels. that was a bit. You gotta remember that the stuff you refer to as 'Disney 'back then wasn't Disney at that time because she was doing things to shock the world.The world wasn't use to females being that brazen.So back then we were unuse to what she did. Now it does seem "Disney" because it was so long ago.She was in playgirl before she ever made it big.I think she was 18 years old then. Did you see her very first movie made in the early 80's?

I don't know if this was the first shocker, but it really shocked me. Madonna would have her limousine driver go around and pick up several young Latino boys, and they would have sex in the back of the limo. This was around the time of lav.

I am going to say either her nude work in NYC back in the late 70s or the wearing of crucifixes as a fashion statement in the early 80s
