Well, the saying goes that fine wine is best aged! The same goes with skill in any sport. The younger you are when you start, the better your ability to cultivate the skill and become a more successful and worthy opponent.
As a tennis coach, I can tell you that it is not a skill that you can master in a year and be a "big tennis player." There are people out there that have been playing since they have been able to hold the racket upright that still are not "big tennis players" ( I assume you mean pro tennis players?)
If you are seriously interested in being a pro player, practice the skills, learn the rules, always play against players that are better than you, and get yourself rated (USTA rated). This rating will allow you to start competing at a local level, and then you can advance from there. Be prepared for some very stiff competition.

Good Luck!

If you started last year then i'm sorry you can't be a professional. 8 is the minimum age when someone starts playing and you just started learning. It would have been better if you started coaching at the age of 8 or 9 if you wanted to become a legend.

Sorry, but you are too old to ever make it as a professional. You can practice everyday and take lessons, and maybe in a couple of years play some small tournaments.

When you are old enough that you know that you want to stick with the sport and you are devoted to it. Tennis can get expensive so you don't want to buy the rackets and only use them only once. At least when you are 7-8.
