In order for you to get high speed Internet you must have either cable (and your cable company is capable of providing high speed Internet) or you must live within two wire-miles of a telephone switching unit where they can install your DSL equipment...

some people just live too far out into the country to have either option...

there used to be a satellite option but there were too many problems with that.

Move to a large city (*GriN*)

i feel ur pain ... i live in hicksville usa and the only option is sattelite which is expensive and not all that great either... you get a daily allocation of high-speed bandwidth and if you exceed it it kicks you down to practically dialup speed ... the allocation is typically enough to stream about an hour and a half of video but its fine for surfing ... you can bet that about 5 minuets after regular dsl is available i will be tossing the dish on the burn pile though ... the rates are about 65$ a month with a 2 year contract i think it was .. or you can upgrade to the next level which gets you about twice the daily limit on bandwidth for about double the price .... and then theres rain .. in heavy storms the connection goes out but its pretty stable other than heavy rain.

Just depends on your location. Many locations, especially places that aren't in big cities may not have the proper wiring to allow for broadband connection.

If you cant get DSL or cable, then you can try looking at Satellite.

Contact your local phone company and ask if they have high speed dsl or if you have cable tv it may also be available through your cable provider.
