It's cool. This kid gets lost in the woods and he has this hatchet. He compares a lot of stuff to television. He got lost in the woods because the pilot gets a heart attack and dies. So the kid decides to fly the plane until it runs out of gas. His plane almost sinks. Well it did, but not while the kid was there.

Yep, great book!! Did you know there's at least one sequel? I think 2 actually. In "The River" the kid goes back to the woods, but I forget why--maybe to show someone how he lived or something, but then the adult he's with gets hurt really bad. And in "Brian's Winter" (or something like that) the author is kinda responding to a bunch of fans who wanted to know what would have happened if Brian hadn't gotten rescued when he did and had to stay through the winter. I like all the stories by Gary Paulsen!

Yes, it is a good book to read to kids in grade 2 or 3. I've know many teachers who love this book and read it every single year.

Really that was your only question? Did we hear of that book? Really?

Yes, I read this book in school, but it's been a few years back. I thought it was a pretty good book.

I've read it. It was okay, not my kind of book, though. The beginning was really weird, where he'd just spout random words.
