I was looking at 2 adoption web sites yesterday, Out of the 1000 kids that needed to be adopted, there was only 2 childern that it was because their parents had died. The other 998 kids was due to neglect and abuse. What is up with that people? Why have we become a society that throws their kids away? And what right do we have to tell other countries how to treat their people when this is what we do?

That is very very sad. Our culture has become one of "the teenager" - do what you like but don't take any responsibility for those actions. Or a little as possible.

Perhaps if we valued wisdom and consideration more then things like this wouldn't happen as much?

A lot of this is due to the high teen pregnancy rates, they have these kids, sometimes two or three and haven't a clue what's involved in raising a child. The teens parents do want to get stuck raising them and that's when CPS gets to foot the bill for caring for these neglected kids or should I say the tax payers, that's you and me!

The shame of a nation. We must all go beyond 'spectator, go beyond the tears, the compassion, beyond the pain. Beyond to whatever is that place that we must each reach to be committed enough to do something! Unite with one goal, one purpose to protect and cherish the children. I recall watching Oprah several years ago and one of the statements she made was that "it takes a whole village to raise a child".

Stop right now! These mothers chose life! They could have chosen abortion but they didn't! They tried to raise their children and found themselves unable to handle it. Thank God they turned them over instead of killing them!
