I don't know what to study in college. I love computers and everything that has to do with technology, but i still don't know what career is the best option for me.

What career do you think is good and future proof>?

I have two degrees, though not in something like computers/IT.
One thing to think about is what you really love. I'm of the mind-set now that we should explore this first -- not when we're in our 40s or 50s. I'm not sure any type of job is actually "future proof" anymore -- even Doctors have been getting out of the business because of rising malpractice insurance. And as we all know, many companies still keep IT people at home, but many more outsource that expertise and knowledge.

So... study what you love, and talk to people in those fields. The more people you know doing what you want to do, the more contacts you will have after graduation.

Sometimes apprenticeships and internships can also give you a flavor of an occupation (though most of the time you will be doding grunt work ) -- but it might let you know if you fit in with the corporate culture/climate -- if there are other things you can do with your degree, etc.

Go the bookstore and to the reference/college area and puruse the books there on Internships. Some are paid, some are not. When you see the variety of jobs that are out there, you may start getting some ideas.

You will probably have your first two years before you declare a major. That should allow you ample time to grow mentally and to see more of what's out there. My wife thought she wanted to pursue Special Education, she graduated with a degree in Computer Science and she had a job as a computer programmer for a very large mortgage company until she died.
I entered college with the idea that I wanted a degree in Education, graduated with two degrees, Political Science and Spanish, now I teach Elementary school. Good Luck to you.
