Yes. Start looking for another job. There is probably a layoff or firing coming your way. Sounds like it's not a firing tho because he is warning you in advance which means you are prolly a good worker. Ask him if you could possibly use him for a reference for your next job.

Of course. Yes. Either there is a general job loss in your department and you are likely get the pink slip. Or, the boss is trying to get you out of his way. Either way, you need to start looking for a job soon.
