there are two main Mobile phones companies/networks. These are Celtel Kenya and Safaricom which is partially owned by Vodafone UK. If it doesn't work there are lots of dealers that specialise in unblocking/flashing of cellphones so that they accept any Network. Goodluck.

There are only 2 cell-phone servers in Kenya which are Safaricom and Celtel(Kencell). Safaricom is the leading mobile network operater and mostly used although Celtel the former Kencell has the best Network reception all over the country and a bit expensive for local people, and thats why people jam Safaricom network hence proving Celtel to be powerful in signal reception since it doesn't jam with thousands of calls at the sametime.

I definately second Know it all..... it would be tragic to carry a Blackberry in Nairobi unless you use it in private otherwise you might as well start saving up to buy a new one.
