Yesterday the Pope apologized for saying Islam is violent (after they said, "no we aren't"). Today this is in the news:

"Earlier Sunday in the West Bank, two churches were set on fire as anger over the pope's comments grew throughout the Palestinian territories.

In the town of Tulkarem, a 170-year-old stone church was torched before dawn and its interior was destroyed, Christian officials said. In the village of Tubas, a small church was attacked with firebombs and partially burned, Christians said. Neither church is Catholic, the officials said....Police headquarters across Italy were also ordered to raise security at potential Catholic targets, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. However, at the Vatican, no additional security measures could be seen as tourists strolled across St. Peter's Square. "

the nun was shot in Somalia...It is unclear whether the shooting is connected with strong criticism by radical Somali clerics about the Pope's recent comments on Islam...
Unfortunately there will still be people who don't know how to react when they are angry...I am really sorry to see that they didn't choose to protest peacefully...I really don't think that those things are necessary to show their anger...OK,i understand that what the pope said upset them, but they could choose other form of protest, not burning christian churches...

u just see the two sides of a coin

there are two types of people in every relegion

1. Passimists
2. Extrimists

passimists are they who are not trying to impose their relegion
on others and they have respect to all other relegions
equally they are droven by their mind and respect

and Extrimists who are willing to force others to accept their relegion. they want to show their relegion as the best over others
they are droven by their anger

u just see the worldwide response of all the muslims towards this they are not happy with what the pope said
but they didnt showed any anger by creating disputes

but as there were the EXTREMISTS too (as they are in every relegion) u got to hear that news

Its not only Islam where u will find these types of people
they are in every relegion

so u see Extrimists are a danger to humanity

moral - Extremity in any thing is worst

You blame everyone for the actions of extremists. With people like you around who hate Muslims you can surely understand those who do these things as they are just like you.

Why don't you join the US air force and go and drop bombs on rag head kids and grannies in the Middle East then the churches will be safe.

You know if the Western aggressions and quest to control other peoples' oil resources were to cease: and you guys in your squirrel cages were to back off from this spewing of hatred, you might be surprised that Islam really just wants to be left in peace.
Need we really have to go back to the "Christian Crusades" to make the point?

If you read it correctly, he never apologized for the comments (thus not taking his comments back) he apologized for the muslims reaction to the comments.....thus no apology and the tolorent muslim cultist in their religion for peace went and gave their peace to the churches they burned down and the nun they killed.....

all members of a particular faith are capable of violence in the name of God/peace/ or whatever.

Look at the the Spanish Inquisition, the Catholic/Protestant riots in Ireland, The Crusades. So called 'Christians' are very capable of violence. Despite the fact that Jesua of Nasareth preached a message of peace. Islam preaches peace. It's not faith or the idea, it's people themselves. Coincidentally, the group of people with least violent acts in reguards to faith (not that there aren't ANY with violence in their background), are those who don't even have a faith, or believe in a Supreme Power (I do, but it is interesting info.)

Thats just religion in general. But i think it proves a point they are called violent, and in defence to that claim they turn to violence...go figure.
