it's actually very simple. you need a burning program like nero or roxio. just drag the avi file into the software window and make sure the burning preference is set to dvd-video. if you're unsure if it will work you can burn a disc image first. it's like making a full dvd but you burn to a file instead of the disc. the file works just like a dvd-video (opens in your dvd player) but you can check for errors without wasting the disc.

Download 'Nero Vision Express'.

Insert blank DVD, burn to disc.

It'll convert, add menus etc.. best and simplest way of doing it there is.

Get the latest version of nero. They have good video burning software
