The black body temperature of the sun is about 6000 degrees Kelvin.

Interestingly this is also the COLOR TEMPERATURE of daylight as it is used in photography.

Since the color temperature of an ordinary light bulb is about 3200 K, you could also state the temperature of the surface of the sun is about twice as hot as the filament in a light bulb.

Interesting side note, it takes 1200 years for the energy produced in the center of the sun to be brought to the surface by convection.

The effective temperature (blackbody temperature at the photosphere) is 5770 K. The K means Kelvin. The sun's core temperature has been estimated to be anywhere from 8 million Kelvin to 27 million Kelvin.
