Actully You can do it without using static IP. I will tell How?

To do this you need to complete these things.

1) Use Web Server Software
2) Create Web Site Configure it With Web server
3) Enable Port 80 on your Internet Router &
If you Have windows XP SP2 with firewall enable Port 80.
4) Find DDNS ( Dynamic DNS) ISP ( Dont worry its Free)
5) Chek all things & try to locate your web site from Outside.

Choose Web Server SW
If you are using Windows XP professional go to "add or remove programs" & install " Application server" & "IIS"

or you can download Apache Web server
http://www.devside.net/server/downloads

Now create some web page & configure it with your web server.

If you are using ADSL router you need to enable Incoming trafic on that router. User Router manual. Most of the time it will specify as "virtual server configuration". Enable port 80 on that.

If you have xp with sp2 enable port 80 in your windows firewall.

DDNS is that you can use Free doamin name without having Static IP.I recommend "http://www.no-ip.com/ " becuse i have done this before. You have to download there software & create free account with them.

Actually why we use DDNS.
Your ISP wil change your IP address periodcally. If this happen every time you want to connect to the your web server you have to check the public ip address on your router. Now " No-IP.com" take that part for you. It check your router ip periodically & Update Resource record on the 'No ip" DNS server.

Now you can check it now. Remember you can not check this on your PC. if you try it will display router configuration page.

From outside from your router try to type your free doman name on your browser & if you follow all steps correctly it will display your web site.

Congratulation. I hope you will successfully do it.

You will need software to run your webserver in your computer. I believe that this software comes with Windows XP Professional, but is not in the Home Version. Then you will also need a static IP Address on the net so that people can find your website.

Install IIS and unless you know how to configure apache then download that one, xampp provides everything for you too.
