Yes & no. True friendships can last forever if both party have mutual understanding. But sometimes, a friendship is just a friendship for certain people to have someone to talk & share problems under certain time, certain place & conditions. Nothing is forever in this world.

Of course. I've known lots of people who've made it through their whole lives being friends. My grandfather was with his best friend all the way from grade school, to college and even kept in touch while having different careers. They were best friends upto the point when my grandfather passed away and now his best friend is more like our best family friend. My parents were best friends who decided to get married and 28 years later...they're still best friends and together. So yeah, true friendship can last forever but it has to be true and you have to both work hard at it...its not easy but its worth it.

yes, but the people involved have to take the time to make the friendship work. You can't just let it be and expect it to be there 30 or 40 years from now.

Of course! "True Friendship" is a given. True friendships last through thick and thin, most of the times many times longer that a marriage!

Depends. Sickness, transfers, marriages and luck all play a part in how long frendships will last. Most of us get involved with the kids and have to change the meaning of what was a friendship or let it go.

Of course but it takes work. Friendships don't magically last 20 years, you have to work at them.

I am not sure. This is my philosophy, I believe that people come into your lives at different periods to fulfill a purpose, after that purpose is fulfilled then they move on.

Nowadays, It's very hard to find people that are genuine and are willing to work at friendships.
