the catch seems to be in the term 'LARGEST'. USA,Canada and Mexico may be the three' LARGE" countries in NA, but only one of them can be the LARGEST.

Area-SqMiles Population-Nos.
USA 3718695 299360879(2006 census)
Canada 3854085 32547200(do)
Mexico 758249 10702900 (2005)

Areawise Canada is the largest. But pupulationwise USA beats Canada hollow. It is approximately 10 times over Canada.Mexico does not come anywhere near in area but it beats Canada in population statistics. It is nearly thrice as large as Canada.

So the answer would be Canada is the LARGEST areawise
USA is the LARGEST populationwise.
Mexico is larger than Canada in populations but areawise Canada is nearly five times as large.
