Use raid wasp and hornet killer, then right after dark spray them both hard. Thats when all of them should be in the nests.
Then in the early morning come out and hit it again if there are any left alive.

I think you should not attempt to get rid of the hives yourself. It is best to seek help from the pest control. In some cases, pesticide have worked but you do not know the mood of the bees and may end up getting stung or having the bees fly into your house which will then pose a greater problem. Just spend the money to get the professionals get the job done.

Get that 25 foot bee spray...I've seen it take bees right out of mid flight.
then after a few days spray it down at night when there is no activity and it's cool enough to keep them lethargic.

I have also used a shop vac and taped it up there for the whole day then spray bee killer into the shop vac.
but didn't open it for a week after...they were still crawling around.

Personally, I'd get the exterminators in. Once I had a similar problem and tried fixing it myself, ended up getting worse. Trust me it's worth the call out charge and getting professional work done.

Get one of those bee keeper suites and a baseball bat.

Swing for the fences and run like hell.
