I totally agree,
Muslims who have a problem with what the pope said need to step back and take a look at themseleves, They stereo type themseleves, our countries let them have a better life, and they take it for granted,
DID OSAMA BIN LADEN APOLOGISE TO US? DID SUDDAM HUSSEIN APOLOGISE TO US? DID THE ISLAMIC AND MUSLIM LEADERS APOLOGISE TO US FOR WHAT WAS PLOTTED AGAINST AMERICA IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES NO!!
Why should the pope apologize, he didn't kill anyone, he read a 400+ year old quote.

It really depends on what context you make this statement regarding. I completely agree that radical Muslims make it bad from a perception standpoint for all. The vast majority of Muslims are fine, hard-working people, who have no desire to cause anyone harm. However, having said that I have to say that if we are referring to the statements made by the Pope, I disagree. You had the leader of one of the world's largest religions calling the prophet of another religion evil. I realize he was quoting someone Else's statements, but this is a PR disaster. I do not condone violence simply because you don't like the words someone is saying, but I can understand how this would upset them, because it is an actual insult, not just a perceived one. The Pope has apologized, which was the correct course, barring never having made the statement in the first place. Muslims now have to choose a course, agree to disagree and move forward, or call for jihadist type action. The first course would be wise, the second inflammatory and lacking of any benefit to the community as a whole.

It is more than the religion, which they have hijacked as a focus, it is dire and crushing povery, of resources, of education, of openness of thinking. They are, via the media, now acutely aware of the vast wealth of many other parts of the world, and are pathologically envious. They are actually probably pretty skilled at PR, at least the effect it has on the people of their own region. There are many hundreds percentage numbers of radical terrorists more than when this all started.
They are rather unsophisticated in understanding how the western mind works, even today. Just as the western world is unsophisticated in understanding what would work to govern them. They try and use the same techniques that work so well on the masses of largely uneducated and unenlightened people in the region. There are, however, a small minority of pretty sharp people who understand the implications of the activites. If we could only get them in power in the region, and somehow protect them.
Had Mohammed never been born, it would have been for another sect or another reason. There have been tribal wars in the region since way before Jesus or Mohammed, and any excuse will do.

They don't care about public relations (except showing the deaths of innocent they are hiding behind)
I have become increasingly convinced that Islam as a whole were founded in violence and continue in that tradition. If the "peaceful religion of Islam" does not speak out then they are a part of the problem.
If you take pleasure in those who will kill my kids or at least don't speak out against those who would then you deserve to DIE because of those that hide behind you!

The mass portrayal of their responses to perceived insults only serve to preserve and reinforce the popular notion that Muslims are radical and irrational.
Hmmm, I wonder? What is the motivation, the agenda behind
these images on television, the Internet, and in newspapers
around the world? By what measure is information deemed "News
Worthy" to add value to and become part of the solution?

Islamaphobic stories and hysteria whipped up across newpapers and TV for the daily ingestion of the western populace makes lots of lovely money for the American Jewish media, the UK Tory media, and Mr Media himself, Rupert Mudoch. They're all having a field day. It's like the Loadsa Money syndrome of the 80s.
Honestly, why can't the western so called civilised and educated populations see themselves objectively, and how they are clutching at irrational straws. Hysteria, fear, imaginings beyond rationality. Running around like chickens without heads. The real terrorists have achieved their aim, haven't they?
Compare the Pope's words with those of ex-President Khatami of Iran in New York last week. This interview didn't get reported.
"Jesus is the prophet of kindness and peace. Muhammad is the prophet of ethics, morality and grace. Moses is the prophet of dialogue and exchange," Khatami said. "It's good at the present time, where war, violence and repression is so prevalent across the world, for all of us who are followers of God's religion to pursue all efforts for the establishment of peace and security."
In the words of the religious: Blessed are the peacemakers, said Jesus. Who is following his tradition?
There isn't a balance of reporting going on here. How many of you who yell Muslim Terror also acknowledge US Terror http://www.intellnet.org/resources/american_terrorism/Amerikan_Terrorism.html
or Israeli Terror http://www.leblover.com/lebwar.htm ?
If you don't shout, you don't get heard, maybe there's too much one sided shouting going on. Are you truly surprised at the reaction to the Pope's words by the Islamic countries?

You are right. While the USA invasion without provocation of Iraq was a deliberate act of injustice, cartoons and mentioning comments of kings-who engaged in defending their country against a Muslim invasion-is not a reason to be offended, nor is it an excuse for violence.

Since they pray five times a day, when their countries and families are being bombed for oil because the West wants to believe that they are subhuman, they do get upset. The world is quite angry with the US and it's ignorant citizens for fostering wars against countries they don't like. If the world gets angry enough at us, you will want to defend your religion and good intentions too. Diplomacy is everything -- try it.

If it hadn't been for the true Christians ,then Hitler and his cronies would be whipping out the Muslim race in concentration camps as they tried to do with the Jewish race. Don't the idiots see that thy will eventually bring the racial bigots to power and a true holy war will be inevitable
