Is the sexual 'freedom' of sleeping around apart of 'gay culture'? Cruising car parks late at night - is that apart of 'gay culture'? Pop singer George Michael was caught having sex in a toilet block and he said it was okay because 'beats' are apart of his gay 'culture'. Do you agree?

It's no more a part of the gay culture than it is a part of the straight culture. It's more the case that people are more aware of it in our community because it's already targeted for "sexual immorality". Many of the gay men I know (myself included) seek long term relationships and love...not just sex. There are those that are a little more open with their relationships...and that's their perogative. Again, I have a few straight acquaintances who are the worst that I know when it comes to being "sleazy". So, no, gay men are not naturally sleazy.

I think mainly because of the pressures resulting from non-acceptance among the wider society as well as not receiving guidance from traditions (about gay relations), very few gay guys have stable long term relationships. So an awful culture of sex without affection and without greater expectations has resulted. No use in denying it. Gay people need to change this particular trend.

Gay or not, men are men. A lot of men define their self-image, if not their actual self-worth, by the frequency and variety of partners with which they have sex. This has nothing to to with orientation and everything to do with male ego, "I had sex with 10 different people in 5 days, ain't I the Manly Man?" If multiple gay men with that attitude get together regularly, promiscuity is inevitable. On the flip side, women tend to be more relationship oriented, hence the cliche that men give love to get sex and women give sex to get love. According to most of my Lesbian friends the kind of casual tricking so common among gay men is quite rare among gay women. Just an observation from life.

I personally am not gay...but have had gay friends...I would say they are more sexual because it is so easy for a gay guy to find sex....as for being more sleazy...I dont think so....I think that there is good and bad everyone...you are either a good person or bad person....as for the freak side...everyone has one...it is a matter of how paranoid you are about controlling it

"gay culture" is...tricky. I like to think of it as a collective of things that CAN be unifying gay culture, but it's nebulous at best. There's music, art, lingo etc. But to think that because someone is gay that they have ANYTHING to do with any part of gay culture is illogical. Furthermore, to think that there's any official canon of what is and isn't gay culture (for those who do see themselves as a part of some parts of it) is just as silly. There are some "trends", perhaps. Most of those, I happen to think are because we're already marginalized in society primarily because of sexual behavior and our romantic relationships: as such, that gives us the freedom (I'll use the word) to actually give pause and think for ourselves as to whether something is right or wrong instead of just going with the flow of society without question. We've already had to face a lot of opposition; we've already given up a lot of privilidge, a lot of dreams, often a lot of family to be true to ourselves. So some people are a little more willing to experiment with other things I think. (Like fetish, polyamory, open relationships etc)

LOL, no, I think that the "sleaze" factor is determined by issues other than sexuality. Issues such as maturity and self-respect not to mention respect for others. For every "sleazy" gay guy out there , there are 10 more equally "sleazy" heterosexual guys.

Yes, homosexual men are "sleazy". They, (most of them) have a tendency to sleep around with whoever will lay with them. Their sexual appreciate is monstrosity. I live in a gay area and employ all gay men. They are more drama queens than women have ever been. They complain constantly, about ever ache and pain they have. Ever disappointment is devastating to them. They can't function after a good nite with their lover. They are to tired the next day. They are affected by ever sex act they perform and feel they need to be paid for it, or compensated in some way. Their throats or colons are in disrepair. They have a lot of pain in the gut, throat, and *** because of the force they use in their sexual acts. I've seen them in action, it's unbelievable.

I think that gay men are primarily visually stimulated....I think men are always looking for sex...when you have 2 males always looking and being very visual..yes you have lots more sex...whether I would call it sleazy or not is a different question.
