Its impurities in our atmosphere. Its the same concept of a sunrise or sunset. If you shine a flashlight through a glass of water with a teaspoon of milk in it, it will have a pinkish color.

The moon actually isn't a different color, it is the atmoshpere that makes that seem to happen. It is the same as a red sunset or sunrise. There is dust and pollution in the atmosphere, and it tints what you see behind it, kind of like a lens for a flashlight.

particles in the atmosphere will sometimes make the moon appear to have color. For example, the eruption of Mt St Helen's threw enough dust and ash into the air that the moon appearred to have color for years.
