I haven't read it, nor seen it, although it sits on my movie shelf.
I hear it's good though...maybe I'll watch it today...

The Graphic Novel wins hands down, there are more characters each with their own storyline, I do love the Anime Film as well but you don't get the full story, especially with the non-appearance of Akira himself in the film.

I greatly enjoyed the Akira movie and haven't read the graphic novel but it is on my list!

I love Akira! Even though it's a bit overrated, it's still one of my favourite anime movies. The manga is far better though in terms of storyline, character development etc.

Far preferred the graphic novel (although the film was superb) the novel went far deeper in plot. Just my opinion...

both are excellent but i prefer the graphic novel. the movie is a small summary of the comic book.
