I doubt it, it will be too much to lose if the UK went into the Euro, for a start it would have absolutely no control over interest rates, I don't even think the UK should be in the EU, its too far removed and too Americanised in its ways and allegiances. It will never take on a free borders view for travel either, one will still always need a passport to gain entry to the UK, even when you are clearly coming from another Eu country and clearly British. The price differences within the Euro zone are slowly levelling out, which is to the detriment of some countries such as Spain, things have become far more expensive since joining the Euro

A referendum on the Euro is not likely in the forseeable future as Gordon Brown (who is almost certain to succeed Tony Blair as Prime Minister at least up to the next General Election) and David Cameron (who is the only other person likely to be Prime Minister after the next General Election) are both opposed to Britain's joining the European Single Currency. Therefore if they do not intend to join it there is no need to held a referendum on it.
If at some point in the future a Government did decide to join the Euro, then I cannot imagine a political environment where they could do so without holding a referendum.
So, to answer your question: yes, but not for at least a decade, probably longer.

Personally, I love the Euro. Whenever I'm on the continent it makes life so much simpler.
But one thing you can be sure of is that no government is going to introduce it into the UK without a referendum. And since they know it will never pass, there is no way it will be put to the vote any time soon.
So, in summary, it may happen, but don't go holding your breath.

The majority of british people do not want the euro, the government is aware of this and most m.p.s for once are listening to their constituents so therefore the only ones to support it in parliament are those to whom the introduction of the euro are those who stand to make money from the conversion.A spanish lady once told me that it was the worst thing that ever happened to Spain and that we British must stay out!
