Usually the detective or patrolman who you filed the original report with handles the entire case. If you know his or her name, call dispatch and ask for them. Otherwise the dispatcher who answers the phone will be able to help you out. Just tell them your name, and they can either transfer you, or look up the information themselves. If you never reported the car stolen in the first place, now is a good time to do that!
