If you don't have any de-scaler, you can soak it in vinegar and the limescale will dissolve

If you want an environmentally friendly way to delime your shower head simply soak it in white vinegar for an hour or so and then rinse with clean water and it should work like new again! If white vinegar is not available where you are look for any deliming cleanser on the household cleaning aisle in your grocery store and follow the directions. But I think the vinegar is the best way to go especially with the rubber nodules on your shower head.

If you don't have any store bought descaler etc try this: disassemble the head, put in a bowl and squeeze lemon juice on the parts liberally. Also cover with water and leave overnight. This does well with calcium deposits, which is usually the problem. An old toothbrush is a great tool too. The plastic lemon juice is ok.

Take a shower cap or something similar and fill it up with vinegar, tie it up on the shower head leave it overnight or longer. Then use an old tooth brush to slough off the salts. The shower will be as good as new.

to clean shower head or taps that have limescale build up encase in cotton wool/fabric soaked in vienegar and wrap tightly in plastic bag or cling film leave for 1/2 hour then rinse - for serious build up the process may have to be repeated - but as vinegar is an acid it is wise to keep checking] as opposed to leaving on for longer period if you think ithe build up is more dense. - once clean wipe shower head or taps weekly with half a
lemon (one you may have squeezed will do)_or vinegar to keep build up away - hope that helps.

mix CLR in a bowl with water and hold it up to the head. We did this because water wasn't coming out of all the holes and it works like NEW now. CLR works some magic.
You can get it anywhere.......Wal-mart, menards,
