I think the maximum capacity isn't a worry because the direction of the train runs one way (requires little manoeuvring) unlike a bus. Secondly, the train runs horizontally unlike a lift. There's more concern about capacity in a lift because it defies gravity. Thirdly, the train doors naturally serve as a detector if the cabin gets overcrowded. I've seen people stepping out of the cabin involuntarily when the doors refuse to shut.

I think you have to e-mail to "LTA", and this morning I also found out that a "SBS" bus displaying the maximum capacity, it is of surprised to me ? The display info stated are 1 driver, 50 sitting , 40 standing and 3 children= 2 adults. Don't you see, is it over loaded of this bus ?

There might be, when the whole MRT is packed with people. I think the authorities might have made precautions to sustain the weight.

i believe there is.....safety issues!!
but whether it is adhered to is a different thing....i suppose SMRT has taken all these into consideration.
